14 to 6 to 12

I was a size 6 sometime last year. Now I'm an ugly 12.

I keep hearing comments about my weight.... "Why did you put the weight back on?"

"Oh no, what happened?"

"You used to look so pretty.."

Fuck them.

A Year Later

How quickly time flies.... I'd all but forgotten about blogging... about restricting... I lost some weight, gained some back... but now I feel it's time to take things seriously again.

So here's to new beginnings.

Target for this month: Drop 2lbs by Jan 31

New Blog

I've shifted my blog to wordpress: http://theskinnycolumn.wordpress.com/

I won't be shifting this blog from here... that one's like a 'fresh' start. Cheers!

Changes

Alright, before I start this post, I’d like to remind anyone reading this blog that this is not a pro-ana blog. Never have I claimed to have an ED… I feel for those suffering from one and can’t even begin to imagine what they are going through. If you’re looking for an ‘Ana Buddy’, I’m sorry, I really am not the person.

Having said that, I’m not supremely stoked with the way my weight loss has been going. I lost a little weight since the last time I wrote (thanks to a wonderful 2 weeks in Paris – which I will blog about later) but I put on about 5lbs right before the trip. I call this ‘complacency weight’. You know when everyone’s been commending you on your weight loss and everywhere you go, you only hear, “Wow! You look fantastic!” etc. etc.? That’s when you take a bite of that yummy chocolate cake at the party thinking, “Oh well, I deserve this. I have worked so hard. And I look so fab!”

Then that one slice of chocolate cake turns to an after-lunch dessert or an extra serving during dinner. And before you know it, your favourite pair of jeans begin feeling slightly snug… You think, “Oh, I’ll work out from tomorrow. I’ve come this far. One or two pounds will be a breeze.” But it doesn’t stop there and bam! You’ve gained 5lbs – maybe even more – before you can say “Pudding!” :P

Been there, done that – times a million.

But this time, it’s different. How, you ask? I look different. I feel different. I am different.

Happy New Year!

This is me...

Alright… so it’s time to talk about diets and workouts! *feels excited*

Right now I’m following mostly a Mediterranean diet…low on carbs (I practically do not have any bread these days) with lots of veggies. I’ve stopped trying to crash diet & fast because, honestly, I do not have the will power. I end up binging late at night and end up feeling sick (both physically and mentally)… My ‘diet’ isn’t perfect but it’s working for me (albeit slower than I’d like…)

But the great thing is, it actually works. I spent 4 weeks vacationing with my friend – and those four weeks I ended up eating whole, organic food – no bread or McDs or ice cream or anything like that… we’d have fresh fish grilled and accompanied with veggies… enjoyed a glass or two of wine daily… and mostly walked everywhere (and I’m talking 4 to 5 hrs daily)… I ended up losing 15 pounds just like that!

So now, I’m trying to stick to a ‘natural’ diet… but it’s hard given the place I live in and the lifestyle I lead (lots of socialising and drinking) - - but I’m hoping my determination will get the better of me (pun intended) :)

Oh, and I did not renew my gym membership – I go for brisk walks with my dog (an hour each in the morning & evening); and do some cardio at home - - and when I’m feeling really energetic – I try out the P90x and Insanity modules.

That’s all for now! xox

Reboot...

I had given up on this whole blogging thing... But I realise I do miss it!

I logged in today from work to see a message from 'Just Me'... thanks!! :)

So from today, I'm gonna actively start posting stuff about my 'new' life and my journey towards my goal. I've already crossed two mini-goals out and I feel so great! Will post more about my diet and workout programme in a bit :)

But for now, thanks 'Just Me' for your message - for taking the time to read and most importantly taking the time to write.. even a few words can make a big difference!! Good luck with your goals! x

Absence - -

Wow, I can't even remember the last time I was here... I missed this...
So many things have happened in between.... a death... a serious health issue followed by an operation... a new job.... a new lease on life (the last two being mine...)
But tomorrow is a new day, and I shall begin this again with new targets and weight loss goals.

On a different note, I found an e-mail regarding a blogging award...Apparently, back in October my blog was selected as a pro-ana blog winner and I was asked to collect my badge from their website....
(my blog has been listed here)
needless to say, i'm not going that way.... this is not a  pro-ana blog.
just a weight-loss one - albeit a little unconventional....

anywhoooo.... like I said... tomorrow's a new day.... :)

Besos.
